Yamba is a small coastal resort town in northern NSW, surrounded by the ocean, the mighty Clarence River, and bordered by Yuraygir National Park this is a very beautiful holiday spot.
Known for having the best moderate climates in the world next to California in the USA, Yamba is a fantastic holiday destination offering a relaxed lifestyle all year round. Yamba boasts 11 beaches along a pristine coastline making it a fantastic seaside holiday destination.
From The Sands Resort - your Yamba holiday accommodation - you can walk across the road to picturesque Pippi Beach, just one of four beaches within easy walking distance from your beachside accommodation. The beaches offer endless walking and fishing opportunities, rock pools, excellent for surfing, swimming and sun bathing.
Many pods of dolphins play up and down Pippi Beach and at certain times of the year you will see whales as they migrate along the New South Wales coastline – a magical experience to remember!
Yamba has a quaint town centre with a variety of restaurants, cafes and shops. Great sporting facilities and leisure pursuits are on offer including golfing, bowling, fishing, and world-class surfing both in Yamba and Angourie just 5kms away.
The rock pool at Yamba Beach is the perfect place for safe swimming and the views from Yamba Lighthouse are superb. The 2kms of sea walls are great for walking and cycling and fishing with fantastic views of Yamba Beach.
Fishing is famous here in the seaside town of Yamba, the whole area in general is great for fishing from the pristine beaches, sea walls and flat rocks around the area. Commercial prawn and fishing fleets roll by in the evening, returning at dawn to the nearby marina with their fresh catch of fish and Yamba prawns. A number of charter services are available for offshore and deep sea fishing.
Yamba is within easy reach of major regional centres and capital cities with just a 1 ½ hour drive to Byron Bay, 2 hours to the Gold Coast and just 1 hour from Coffs Harbour.
